Sales readiness software shows whether a rep can sell a product, a message or a process, not just whether they were sent the material. It combines practice, knowledge checks and sometimes certification with a way to measure the result. That makes it different from a content library, which only stores what a rep might use, and from a learning system, which only delivers courses.
The top results for this query are two definition guides from Mindtickle, a ten-tool listicle from Spekit and a short explainer from Unboxed. Three of the four are written by vendors that sell readiness tools. This page keeps the definition short and then does the part they skip: for each tool, what the vendor's own pages say it counts as ready, and what they leave out. We read the vendor pages on October 29, 2026.
- Sales readiness is the outcome. Enablement (content, tools, training) is the supply side that feeds it, so readiness software has to measure something, not only deliver something.
- Six tools cover most of the category: Mindtickle, SalesHood, Allego, Highspot, Showpad and Spekit. Each counts a different thing as ready: an index, an AI role-play session, a certification, a knowledge check.
- None of the vendor pages we read publishes a price for these tools. Plan on a quote and a demo.
- Continuous readiness (a skill, a role) and readiness for one change (a new price, a new feature) are different jobs. Most platforms are built for the first.
What Is Sales Readiness Software?
Sales readiness software is a set of tools that prepares sellers to sell and measures whether they are prepared. The preparing part is training, practice with AI role-play and short quizzes, rather than a pile of files. The measuring part is a score, a certification or a pass mark per rep, which managers can see by person, team or topic.
Mindtickle describes sales readiness as "a continuous state of excellence to grow revenue", and its framework starts with a readiness index built from the competencies of an ideal rep. That framing is genuinely useful, but with one caution: it comes from a vendor that sells a readiness index. Treat it as a definition of the job and test every tool on what it actually measures.
Sales Readiness vs Sales Enablement
Enablement is the supply side and readiness is the outcome. Unboxed puts it plainly: enablement covers the training materials, pitch decks, demos and tools a team gets, and readiness is the team's ability to use them in real selling. Enablement is one piece of readiness, and a single training program doesn't make a team ready.
For software, that means a sales enablement suite can contain readiness features, but owning a content library tells you nothing about whether reps are ready. Our guide to sales enablement software covers the suites. This page covers the readiness features inside and next to them.
Sales Readiness vs Sales Training
Training is one input to readiness. A course can be completed without the rep being able to handle an objection, and readiness software tries to close that gap with practice and proof. If you mainly need courses, onboarding paths and an LMS, start with our list of sales training software. If you want call-based feedback from managers, see sales coaching software.

What Counts as "Ready" in Each Tool
The same word means different evidence in different products. The table lists what each vendor's own pages name as the way readiness is practiced or measured. A cell that says "not stated" means the page we read doesn't mention it, not that the tool lacks it.
| Tool | How readiness is measured or practiced, per the vendor | Practice | Not stated on the page we read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Readiness Index, analytics and dashboards, sales training and coaching | AI Sales Role Play, AI Tutor | Assessments and certifications (homepage) | |
| Assessments that reinforce training; certifications through Highspot University; training impact tracked against sales performance | AI Role Play by persona, product or deal | Details of the certifications | |
| Quizzes built by Authoring AI; analytics on top performers | Roleplay AI with an avatar that raises objections | Certification, Showpad Coach | |
| Certifications and personalized onboarding, "prove readiness" | AI Role Play, AI Coaching | How certification is scored | |
| Mobile learning for onboarding and ongoing skills; conversation intelligence for coaching insights | AI Role Play and Coaching with instant feedback | Certification | |
| Learning Paths with knowledge checks and reinforcement; knowledge freshness monitoring | AI Sidekick guidance inside the deal | Readiness scoring |
Two things clearly stand out. Every tool in the table offers some form of AI role-play, so practice is no longer the differentiator. The difference is what happens after: an index, a certification, a quiz result or nothing recorded beyond completion. And none of these pages states a price, so budget questions go into the first call.
Three Kinds of Readiness Tools
The six tools sit in three groups, and the group tells you more than the brand. Pick the group first, not the brand.
Continuous Readiness Platforms
These platforms are built to measure and improve rep skill over months. Mindtickle, SalesHood and Allego belong here. They bundle training, practice, coaching and a way to see progress by rep. They fit a team with regular hiring, a defined rep profile and an enablement owner who runs programs.
Mindtickle
Mindtickle is built around readiness: training programs, AI role play that can be generated per rep from call and assessment data, quiz-based certification and a Readiness Index that ties training programs to skill improvement.
Mindtickle is the clearest example of readiness as a measured score. Its site lists a Readiness Index alongside AI Sales Role Play, Sales Training, Coaching and an AI Tutor.
- proving reps can say the new message matters more than storing the deck
- you want role play generated per rep from call recordings, past role plays and assessment scores
- you want a self-serve trial or a published price: Mindtickle only offers demos
- you're on Salesforce Professional edition: the Salesforce app targets Enterprise and Unlimited
- Users like
- Training content and coaching
- Users dislike
- Slow loading in the asset hub
- Source: G2, 2,399 reviews

How it works in practice
Mindtickle's own framework has five steps: define excellence with a readiness index, build knowledge with micro-learning and quizzes, align content, analyze performance with conversation intelligence and optimize behavior with coaching and role-play. The blog also quotes figures such as 200+ competencies assessed and up to 50% faster ramp. Those come from Mindtickle without an outside source, so treat them as claims.
The homepage doesn't mention assessments or certifications. Our sales enablement software guide covers certification by score threshold, so confirm the scoring rules in the demo. Ask for both in the demo.

SalesHood
SalesHood bundles content, training Huddles with tests and pitch practice, an AI role-play builder and a manager review queue into three plans whose usage limits are public even though the prices are not.
SalesHood says sellers can "prove readiness with personalized onboarding, AI role play, targeted feedback, and certifications". It's the page that uses the word readiness most directly for proof.
- you want training, pitch practice and content in one mid-size tool with plan limits you can read before a call
- managers should review every recorded pitch from one queue
- your reps work in HubSpot, Slack or Teams: SalesHood's pages name Salesforce, Gmail and file storage, not those tools
- you expect heavy AI practice on the entry plan: Essential allows 10 AI practice submissions per license
- Users like
- Ease of use and training experience
- Users dislike
- Navigation and search
- Source: G2, 828 reviews
How it works in practice
Its applications include Training & Onboarding, AI Coaching and Guided Selling. The page shows Google Drive, Microsoft, Salesforce and Slack among its integrations without describing how they work.
The page doesn't say how a certification is scored or who reviews it. That's the first question to ask.

- Quote only (Essential, Pro, Unlimited)
Allego
Allego builds learning programs from existing material, runs AI role plays scored against shared rubrics, and pushes campaigns and plays to reps by role while expired content drops out.
Allego pairs mobile-first learning with AI role-play and coaching, and adds conversation intelligence to feed coaching with real calls.
- your team sells in several languages and needs role play in them
- you want old launch material to disappear automatically when the new version ships
- you want a one-year pilot at a low commitment: Allego says a three-year term paid annually is typical
- you need deep reporting customization: reviewers flag layout and interface limits
- Users like
- Ease of use and interactive courses
- Users dislike
- Interface and layout limits

How it works in practice
The site describes training for onboarding and ongoing skills, AI Role Play and Coaching with instant feedback, content management with AI recommendations and conversation intelligence. It names customers that report faster ramp, which are the customers' results as the vendor presents them.
Certification isn't mentioned on the page we read.

Enablement Suites With Readiness Features
Suites start from the content library and add training and practice. Highspot and Showpad belong here, and Highspot's site now states it is part of Seismic. The readiness features are real but sit next to a larger content and deal product, and plan tiers can gate them.
Highspot by Seismic
Highspot packages a launch as a Sales Play with content, messaging and scorecards, surfaces it inside the CRM, and is now part of Seismic after the merger completed in August 2026.
Highspot reinforces training with assessments and real-time coaching, offers AI Role Play by persona, product or deal, and runs certifications through Highspot University.
- you want launches packaged as plays that show up on the right deals in Salesforce or Dynamics
- you want AI knowledge checks on launch content without buying the training tier
- you need courses, adaptive learning and automated nudging but plan to buy the entry package: those start at Better
- you're about to sign a multi-year deal and want roadmap certainty before Seismic publishes its combined plan
- Users like
- Ease of use
- Users dislike
- Learning curve and keeping content current
- Source: G2, 1,206 reviews
How it works in practice
Training can be delivered by role, region or seller, and the site says training impact can be tracked against sales performance. AI is described as identifying skill gaps and building adaptive learning paths.
The page links to a training and certification page without giving details, and it states that Highspot is part of Seismic. If you're signing a multi-year contract, ask how the combined roadmap affects your plan.

Showpad
Showpad pairs a governed content library with courses, tests and Roleplay AI, and since October 2025 it also sells the former Bigtincan products, including Brainshark.
Showpad's readiness offer is practice and authoring: Roleplay AI lets reps argue with an avatar that raises objections, and Authoring AI turns documents into trainings with quizzes.
- your launch content is heavy on decks and videos that reps share with buyers
- you want manager follow-up and certification in the same tool as the content
- you want knowledge checks, certifications and role-play on the base package: they start at Advanced
- you run HubSpot, Slack or Teams and need a named integration: the integrations page lists Salesforce, Salesloft, Outreach and Marketo
- Users like
- Content search and sharing
- Users dislike
- Admin back end and reporting
- Source: G2, 1,909 reviews

How it works in practice
The site also lists content management, analytics that surface patterns behind top performers, an open API, 75+ pre-built integrations and MCP connections. It cites a 75% increase in knowledge retention with roleplay and a 2.5-week cut in onboarding time, both as the vendor's figures.
The page doesn't mention certification or Showpad Coach, so confirm what a manager can sign off.

In-the-Flow Knowledge
This group delivers and checks knowledge inside the tools reps already use, rather than in a separate learning site.
Spekit
Spekit stores enablement content as small governed Speks, pushes changes as in-app Spotlights, and checks understanding with AI Knowledge Checks inside Learning Paths.
Spekit builds Learning Paths with knowledge checks and reinforcement, and puts guidance in the rep's workflow through an AI Sidekick and a Chrome extension.
- the change is a process or field change in Salesforce that reps need to see where they work
- you'd rather replace a separate LMS with short paths built from the same content
- your team works in Microsoft Teams: it isn't on Spekit's integrations list
- you need read receipts on announcements: we found no source that Spotlights record acknowledgements
- Users like
- Ease of use and answers inside other tools
- Users dislike
- Search and the browser extension pop-ups
- Source: G2, 303 reviews

How it works in practice
It describes a GTM Knowledge Engine with decay detection and freshness monitoring, a native two-way Salesforce integration, and HubSpot and Gong among its other integrations.
The site names knowledge checks but doesn't state readiness scoring, so a manager sees check results rather than an index.

Readiness for One Change vs Continuous Readiness
Every tool above is built for continuous readiness: a rep profile, a skill, a quarter of training. A different problem shows up when product marketing changes one thing, such as a new price, a renamed plan or a feature that replaces an old one. The question then is narrow: has each SDR, AE and CSM read the approved wording and can they say it without the old claim?
A full platform answers that slowly, though, because someone has to build a course or a learning path for each change. A lighter flow works better: one short brief with approved messaging and a "do not say" list, an acknowledgement from each person and one question that shows they understood. That gives three levels of evidence per person: viewed, acknowledged and ready.
- Effective date of the change
- Approved wording in two or three sentences
- A do-not-say list with the old claims
- One check question with a single correct answer
- Named groups: SDRs, AEs, CSMs
- A date by which everyone should be ready
The GTM Lead is built for this one case. You write a release brief, assign it to groups of SDRs, AEs and CSMs, and see who has viewed it, acknowledged it and answered the readiness check correctly. It isn't a learning system, a content library or a sales enablement suite, and it records nothing beyond those three levels. Our checklist for product launch readiness shows where such a brief fits in a launch, and product launch software covers the wider tooling.
How to Choose Sales Readiness Software
Start from the evidence you want in the weekly review, not from the feature list. A manager who wants a score per rep needs a different tool from one who wants proof that a team heard a change.
| If you need | Look first at | Ask in the demo |
|---|---|---|
| A readiness score per rep over time | Mindtickle, SalesHood | How is the index or certification scored, and who reviews a practice session? |
| Practice and training next to your content library | Highspot, Showpad, Allego | Which plan includes role-play and certification? |
| Checks inside Salesforce or HubSpot | Spekit | Do managers see results per rep or only completion? |
| Proof for a single product or pricing change | A release brief tool | Can I see who acknowledged the change and who did not? |
A 30-Day Readiness Pilot
A pilot answers the question the demo can't: does this tool show who is ready? Run one real change through it.
- Enablement leadPick one change and write the approved wording, the do-not-say list and one check question Days 1 to 3
- Enablement leadLoad the content and assign a pilot group of five reps and one manager Days 4 to 7
- RepsComplete the training, the practice session and the check Days 8 to 14
- ManagerReview who passed, who didn't and how the tool shows it Days 15 to 21
- Product marketingShip one wording change mid-pilot and see how fast the tool shows who saw it Days 22 to 30
Questions to Ask Every Vendor
- What exactly counts as ready: a score, a pass mark, a certificate or a completed course?
- Who scores a practice session, the AI, a manager or both?
- Can I see readiness by rep, by team and by topic?
- Which plan includes role-play, quizzes and certification?
- How long does it take to ship a short update to all reps?
- Does it connect to my CRM, and which edition does that need?
- What is the price for my seat count, in writing?
FAQ
What is sales readiness software?
It's software that trains sellers, lets them practice and shows whether they are prepared to sell. The measuring part, such as a readiness index, a quiz result or a certification, separates it from a content library.
What is the difference between sales readiness and sales enablement?
Enablement is the supply side: content, tools and training a team receives. Readiness is the outcome, meaning the team can use that material in real selling. Enablement is one part of readiness.
What is the best sales readiness software?
It depends on the evidence you need. Mindtickle and SalesHood lead with readiness scores and certification, Highspot, Showpad and Allego add readiness to content and coaching, and Spekit checks knowledge inside the CRM.
How much does sales readiness software cost?
None of the vendor pages we read published a price for these tools, so expect a quote after a demo. Ask for the price at your seat count and which plan includes role-play and certification.
How do you measure sales readiness?
Use evidence of ability, not completion: a score on a knowledge check, a scored role-play, a manager review or a certification. Track it by rep, team and topic, and re-check after each major change.
How do I know my reps are ready for a product or pricing change?
Send one short brief with approved wording and a do-not-say list, ask each rep to acknowledge it and answer one check question. Viewed, acknowledged and ready are three different levels of proof.
